What equipment is needed for my child to play hockey?
USA hockey requires all players to wear the following equipment:
Helmet, gloves, skates, stick, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey
pants, shin pads, hockey shorts or jock with cup (hockey shorts
are shorts with a built in cup and Velcro at the bottom of the shorts
to hold the hockey socks up).  Additionally, mouth guards and
neck guards are optional equipment for Mites (mouth guards are
required for boys 11 and up).  You will also need hockey tape, extra skate laces, a water bottle,  a hockey bag to hold the gear, and a garter  (if you do not have hockey shorts).

Where should I get all this stuff?
The local arenas have hockey shops which offer all of the above
gear.  These include Chill Out in Hackettstown and Aspen Ice in
Randolph.  The staff in the pro shops can assist you in sizing the
right gear for your child. If you know what you need, and what size,
there are many online hockey gear retailers (e.g., hockeymonkey.com, greatskate.com, many others).
The club has attempted to put in place a “gear swap” on the
website – the usage of it has been minimal though.  You can
always use your personal network to ask around for hockey gear
that no longer fits older kids. Additionally, feel free to ask any of
the coaches or club members if they know of anyone with spares
